Per the Medicare inspection report from 9/17/2021, facility staff failed to notify the NJ Department of Health (NJDOH) that the system used to alert the fire department of an emergency was non-operational. This negligence put all residents and staff at risk.
On 9/17/2021, Medicare inspectors also found that—despite the faulty fire alarm system—administrators failed to implement alternative emergency response procedures. The policy states that if the alarm system cannot alert authorities, Fire Watch procedures must be implemented to protect residents and staff. This policy was not followed.
Based on observations made during the 9/17/2021 inspection, facility staff failed to administer medication according to a physician’s orders. On more than one occasion, a resident requiring blood pressure medication received half the necessary dose.
Following their most recent Medicare inspection, conducted on 9/17/2021, inspectors rated ProMedica (Voorhees) one out of five stars for health inspections, three out of five for staffing, and four out of five for quality measures.
