Failed to Provide Reasonable Accommodation for Residents’ Needs

Per the Medicare inspection report completed on 7/18/2019, inspectors found Ridgecrest failed to ensure a resident had access to their breath-activated call cord for a total of 25 minutes. This call cord appeared to be the only way the resident could call for assistance.

Failed to Prevent an Accident Hazard

During the Medicare inspection conducted on 7/18/2019, inspectors found facility staff failed to properly secure a bag of medication. The medication was left open on the floor in the nurse’s station within the dementia unit, creating an accident hazard with a potentially adverse outcome.

Failed to Obtain the Services of a Licensed Pharmacist

Per the same Medicare report from 7/81/2019, inspectors found Ridgecrest staff failed to determine that an account of all controlled drugs was maintained and periodically reconciled. Controlled drug records were properly organized in the special care unit.

Following their most recent inspection on 7/18/2019, Medicare rated Ridgecrest one star out of five for health, two out of five for staffing, and three out of five for quality measures.
